NYS Teacher Centers - About Us:
NYS Teacher Centers were established in 1984 under Education Law 316 to deliver professional development in support of quality teaching. There were 44 Centers that opened that first year. Today, the New York State Teacher Center Network is a vibrant collaborative organization of 125 teacher centers organized into 7 regional networks and many statewide projects working to meet the current needs of our educators. NYS Teacher Centers provide unique learning opportunities and partnerships to educators in almost 2,000 public, non-public, and charter schools.
The Orleans-Niagara Teacher Center has been in operation since the beginning. Our Center serves 12 public school districts, O/N BOCES, and 12 non-public schools in Niagara and Orleans Counties. Each district is represented by a Policy Board Member that serves on our governing body.
Our Center is part of the Far West Teacher Center Network which is comprised of 15 regional centers serving educators in Erie, Niagara, Orleans, Cattaraugus, Allegany and Chautauqua Counties.
